Man Killed on I-85 After Striking a Tractor-Trailer

Hogansville, GA (July 7, 2020) – A man died Tuesday morning after crashing into a tractor-trailer just outside of Hogansville. The accident happened around 6:00 a.m. on I-85 S near the Georgia Highway 54 exit.

According to Georgia State Patrol, 56-year-old Victor Debroux was driving south on the interstate when he allegedly struck a tractor-trailer. The driver of the tractor-trailer allegedly fled the scene of the accident.

When emergency responders arrived, Debroux was conscious. After they extracted him from the vehicle, he suffered cardiac arrest. He was transported to Piedmont Newnan Hospital, where he later died.
